Owners Jena & Jeff Young opened Side Street Cafe in 2009 with a vision of serving locals and visitors alike. They turned that vision into being one of Bar Harbor’s most successful restaurants.

In the past 15 years, they have also opened Thrive Juice Bar & Kitchen, The Annex, Yellow House Inn, & Acadia Gem.

Between shuffling businesses into different properties, they found themselves with a unique opportunity….an empty venue!

So, as Jeff & Jena always do…they dreamed! After working together, and tossing around ideas with trusted family and friends, it was decided that a frozen yogurt shop, where you add your own toppings, and pay by the ounce, was born!

Just one problem…no one could agree on what to name it. Many thoughts were passed around. Then, one night, at the Young family home, their youngest daughter, Isla, said “Side Treats”. Since its located right next to one of their other businesses, Side Street, it made perfect sense!

2024 marks Side Treats’ inaugural season.
